Making authentic Pico de Gallo (Fresh Salsa or Salsa Fresca) is an example of how important developing proper knife skills are.   • 4-6 Roma Plum Tomatoes, Diced

  • 1 Small Red or White Onion, Diced

  • 2-3 Jalapeños, Diced

  • 1 Cloves of Garlic, Grated

  • Bunch of Cilantro, Torn

  • 1-2 Limes, Juiced

  • Sea Salt


  1. Dice all the ingredients carefully. Pico is very much an act of knife skills so if you want to freshen up on how to use a knife, make sure to check out my video.

  2. Add all the diced vegetables into a big bowl, then grate the garlic into it, tear up the cilantro, season with salt and squeeze in the lime juice. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes and up to a few hours. Before it's ready to serve, taste it one more time to adjust for seasoning. Serve with chips, tacos, quesadillas, or even on some toast.
