the best ITALIAN SAUSAGE AND PEPPERS

Today we learn how to make the best Italian Sausage and Peppers sandwich that is inspired by those Italian Street Fairs in the summer. I'll show you I cook the juiciest sausages ever.



Ingredients (3 sandwiches)

  • 6 Hot Italian Sausage Links

  • 1 Large Onion (2 smaller), sliced

  • 1 Large Red Bell Pepper, sliced

  • 1 Cubanelle Pepper, sliced

  • 4 Garlic Cloves, Sliced

  • 3 Club Rolls

  • 3 Tablespoons of Neutral Oil

  • Salt

  • ½ Tablespoon of Dried Oregano

  • 6 Slices of Provolone

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Slice the onions, the peppers, and the onions.

  3. On the stove on medium-high heat, get a heavy pan preheated. Once hot, add a tiny bit of oil and sear the sausages on both sides until it has a nice brown color.

  4. Once browned, transfer out of the pan into a plate and then add the sliced onions and peppers immediately. Season with salt and let those slight char and soften before adding the garlic. Once soften, add the garlic and oregano. Place the sausages on top of the peppers and onions and then transfer that into the oven and cook for about 20 minutes or until a thermometer reads 160 degrees. It will be perfect and juicy.

  5. Slice the club roll but leave one side of the bread still connected. Place a couple of slices of provolone in the bread followed by two sausages and finally a healthy amount of peppers and onions. Broccoli Rabe is also a nice addition. Wrap in foil and then place back in the oven until warm and the cheese is melted.

  6. Ready to enjoy.
